The importance of family

Hi..

I have just spent a wonderful evening round at my mum and dad's house.

It makes me think how lucky I am to have a family who enjoy spending time together.

My dad and I played music together for the first hour. Dad plays Alto sax and me on my trumpet. We listen to songs we love and transpose them for our instruments.

A while back, when I was younger, we used to do this and I would think nothing of it. Now though as an adult, I really enjoy this time, it is so important to me.

A friend, Roxy Sue, just died the other day and my Grandma described death as "Walking through a door" rather than "gone". But it has made me sit up and think...

When do you ever spend enough time with someone you love for it to be ... enough?

When can you say, "yes I have made the most of this?".. I just don't know.

The shock of Sue dying makes me really hope that I tell people I love them enough, that I make the most of everything, that I don't hurt people....

Question is.. does anyone succeed?

Maybe I am at that age now (25!!!) where I contemplate things deeply. Who knows?

At the end of the day I have learnt that as long as you are happy and you follow your heart you will be OK....

Tip for the day... Tell that special someone you love them

Sleep well x
